Clearing Your Cache

Overview

It can be necessary to clear your internet browser cache to fix certain website errors, especially when logging in to MyOhio.gov.  This process clears out temporary files of an application which can be causing problems.  Additional benefits can include freeing up space and improving speed and battery life. 

 

Microsoft Edge

 

1.    Open a Microsoft Edge page and select the Menu, which can be accessed by clicking the 3 dots icon on the top right corner of the browser.

 2.    Scroll to the Settings option and click.

 3.    Select Privacy, search and services from the Settings menu.

 4.    Under the Clear browsing data section, select the Choose what to clear button.

 5.    Select the Cached images and files check box and any additional values you wish, then select the Clear now button.

 

Google Chrome

 1.    Open a browser window in Google Chrome.

 2.    Select the Menu, which can be accessed by clicking the 3 dots icon on the top right corner of the browser.

 3.    Select the Clear browsing data option.

 4.    At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.

 5.    Next to "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes.

 6.    Click the Clear data button.

 

Safari

 

1. Click on the Settings (Gear) icon in the upper right corner of the browser..
2. Click Reset Safari
3. Select the items you wish to clear. (It is recommended to check all items).
4. Click Reset.

 Shortcut

 From any browser, select your keyboard’s Ctrl, Shift and Delete buttons simultaneously.  That should present the clear cache option automatically.
