Changing Ohio SACWIS intake screening decisions when it's been determined a family resides in another jurisdiction:
A PCSA may change an intake screening decision from Screened In to Screened Out when the agency obtains knowledge that the family resides within another jurisdiction. However, the agency must have had no other contact with the family (or a collateral) to initiate the intake. PCSAs may change the screening decision in SACWIS within 24 hours of the original screening decision. If the screening decision cannot be changed by the PCSA, a Sensitive Data Correction Request (JFS 1671) must be submitted to the Automated Systems Help Desk with a thorough explanation of the situation so a data fix can be completed.
A PCSA cannot change the intake screening decision from Screened In to Screened Out when the agency obtains knowledge that the family resides within another jurisdiction if any contact with the family or another source that is not available to the public has been made, thus initiating the assessment/investigation. Once the assessment/investigation has been initiated, all Assessment/Investigative activities are required to be completed by the PCSA who initiated the report. The lead PCSA may request the assistance of another PCSA to complete the required assessment/investigative activities.
The above guidelines are general and are not case specific.
