Question: Why Can't I Change the Dates on the AFCARS Exception Report?

The following is an excerpt from Approved Design Document for the AFCARS Exception Report:

  •  The Start Date and End Date fields are non-editable on the parameter screen.

  • The Start Date and End Date fields default to the current federal fiscal (half-year) begin- and end-dates, which are system derived and based on the system date. This means that for 2011A submission period the Start Date will be October 1st, 2011 on the current submission period, and the End Date will be March 31st, 2012. Similarly, for 2011B submission period the Start Date will be April 1st, 2011 and the End Date will be September 30th, 2011.

  • The Start Date and End Date fields report for the current reporting period will be available 45 days into the next reporting period. On the 46th day, the Dates Dates and End Dates will default to the Start Date and End Dates of the current federal fiscal (year) begin- and end-dates. For instance for 2011A submission period, although the reporting period ends on March 31, 2011, the exception report should be available through May 15, 2011 (the deadline for the federal submission).
