Regulation 12 of the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC) details what should be done when placing a child in another state for a private or independent adoption.

A checklist of packet contents be included for an outgoing request.

Copies of the DCY forms referenced in the checklist.
After placement:

Submit a 100B form to notify our office of the date the child entered the receiving state.

Submit another 100B form at the time of adoption, including a copy of the final decree of adoption.
Depending on the receiving state's requirements, additional documentation may be needed.
